Sprinkler Controller & Smart Timer Troubleshooting
A controller that appears to be failing may actually be reporting a problem somewhere else in the irrigation system. Bloomfield Hills Irrigation troubleshoots conventional and smart irrigation controllers along with the field wiring, solenoids and valves they control.
Controller problems we investigate
- One or more stations will not run
- Controller displays a fault or error
- System runs twice or at the wrong time
- Rain sensor does not stop watering
- Controller lost settings after a power outage
- Smart or Wi-Fi controller is connected but a zone still fails
Smart controller does not mean smart field wiring
App access and weather scheduling can improve convenience, but every station still depends on a working electrical path to the valve and adequate water flow through the system.
Test before replacement
We evaluate controller output and the affected field circuit before assuming the timer needs replacement. A damaged wire, wet splice or failed solenoid can create symptoms that look like a controller failure.
