How Sprinkler Winterization Works

  1. Shut Off & Isolate. Irrigation water is shut off and the system is isolated.
  2. Connect Compressed Air. The compressor is connected and pressure is regulated for the system.
  3. Blow Out the Zones. Irrigation zones are cycled to remove remaining water.
  4. Prepare for Winter. The backflow assembly is drained and the controller is placed in Off/Winter mode.

Winterization removes water from the irrigation system but is not a substitute for a complete spring startup or irrigation inspection.

Do you use antifreeze?
No. We use regulated compressed air and proper draining procedures.
Will winterization identify every irrigation problem?
No. Winterization removes water and provides an opportunity for a basic visual check while zones are operating. A complete system inspection is better performed during spring startup.
Do you winterize drip zones and the backflow assembly?
Drip zones are included in the system's zone count, and the backflow assembly is drained and prepared for winter.
