Underground Sprinkler Leak & Low Pressure Diagnosis
Weak sprinkler pressure is a symptom, not a diagnosis. A zone can lose performance because of a broken pipe or fitting, restricted valve, damaged head, supply problem or changes to the zone.
Signs of an underground irrigation leak
- Wet or unusually soft soil while a zone runs
- Water bubbling from the lawn
- Several heads suddenly losing throw distance
- A zone that cannot raise all of its sprinkler heads
- Water appearing near a valve box or fitting
Why one weak zone matters
If other zones operate normally, the problem is more likely to be isolated to the affected zone. We compare valve operation, pressure, visible flow and sprinkler performance to narrow down the source.
Coverage is part of the diagnosis
A dry area can also come from blocked heads, incorrect nozzles or poor alignment. Increasing runtime can overwater the rest of the lawn without correcting the distribution problem.
