A sprinkler system that worked last fall but will not start in spring can have a simple startup issue or a component that failed over winter.
Confirm the irrigation water supply
Make sure the irrigation shutoff has been returned to the proper operating position and bring water back on gradually.
Check controller power and programming
A controller may have lost its date, time, schedule, or station settings during a power interruption.
Run zones one at a time
If some zones work and one does not, focus on that zone’s valve, solenoid, wiring, and piping.
Look for leaks as the system pressurizes
Cracked heads, fittings, or exposed components can become obvious when water is restored.
